  TEAM ELM HEADING TO ICELAND

Local Kinesiologist and running coach, Sarah Seads of Equilibrium Lifestyle Management, is headed to Iceland this July with a Team of 8 local runners to complete the rugged Laugavegur 55km Ultra Marathon.

From the race website:
"Laugavegur is located in the southern highlands of Iceland and connects the nature reserves Landmannalaugar and Thorsmork. Due to its location, Laugavegur is serviced for only a few weeks a year. For many runners the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon is the most enjoyable race in Iceland. The course takes runners through areas of outstanding natural beauty at the same time as being a challenging course. Hikers normally cover this distance in four days. The course is multi-terrain; sand, gravel, grass, snow, ice, rivers and streams."

From Coach Sarah:
The Team has been training for 5 months and they are ready to race! We will be in Iceland for one week including 6 days of adventuring in the highlands with Lost Worlds Racing, leading up to the race. For all but two of our team members, this will be their very first ultramarathon – and what an amazing place to tackle the distance! The course will be challenging with a very steep, 850m climb right off the start line and technical terrain under foot. The route travels through a range of spectacular terrain. From high alpine to glaciers and waist deep river crossings, this is going to be an amazing course.”
